The video A Tábua de Esmeralda presents a contemporary reinterpretation of one of the most influential texts in the hermetic tradition. The work brings together performance, electronic music and alchemical iconography to build a visual narrative inspired by the history of esoteric thought.

At the center of the scene is performer Bianca Exótica, who takes on the figure of Hermaphroditis Trismegistah. Throughout the video, she recites an adaptation of the text known as the Emerald Tablet, traditionally attributed to Hermes Trismegistus.

The recitation unfolds amid a flow of images based on alchemical manuscripts produced between the 16th and 18th centuries, creating a visual atmosphere that brings esoteric tradition and queer expression into proximity.

The Queer Trilogy

A Tábua de Esmeralda (2022) is part of a trilogy created by Felippe Moraes dedicated to artists from the LGBTQIA+ scene placed in unexpected conceptual situations.

The series also includes The Drag That Said Phi (2017) and Panthera Lemniscata (2021). In each of these works, artists connected to nightlife culture appear discussing themes such as mathematics, cosmology or spirituality.

By bringing distinct cultural universes into proximity, the trilogy proposes a reflection on how different traditions of knowledge can meet and generate new visual narratives.
